Lorenzo Rizzi was born and lived his formative years in Venice. He began painting at the age of 12 but although he showed great promise, unfortunately his family was unable to give him the art school training he hoped for.
However he remained fascinated with the local art scene and found work as a commercial artist and scenographer in Venice’s many theatres.
The noted Venetian painter and teacher, Salvatore Fazio, was his mentor and friend.
Although his work encompasses all subject matter, Venice remains Lorenzo’s greatest source of delight and inspiration.
He paints almost instinctively, using the fluid medium of watercolour to capture the shifting light and unique beauty of his native city and it’s surrounding area.
Now resident in the U.K, Lorenzo exhibits in and around London, Essex and Hertfordshire.
His work hangs in many private collections in Britain, Europe and the U.S.A.
