Back by popular demand, Norfolk artist Patrick Boswell will be exhibiting paintings featuring his signature sunny beach scenes, alongside views of windy sailing boats and people on the piste. All good life affirming stuff!

In association with Victoria Fine Art we shall be holding an exhibition of works by Ivan Taylor.
Ivan was born in Staffordshire, in 1946.
After studying Fine Art and Graphics at Stoke and Stafford Colleges, he worked as a graphic artist in industry, and went on to become Head of Graphics for Staffordshire County Council Education Department.
He had his first one-man exhibition in 1972 and has been a full time painter since 1989, showing in galleries in England and Wales as well as fulfilling commissions.
In 2006 he was a prize winner at the Royal Institute of Painters in Water Colours exhibition at the Mall Galleries.
Ivan is currently the President of the Society of Staffordshire Artists.

We were thrilled to award the A&K Wilson Gallery Award at this years 292nd annual exhibition of The Royal Society of British Artists to long time friend of the gallery, renaissance man and all round good chap Guy Portelli RBA FRBS. Having eagerly awaited seeing Guy's Pop Icon sculptures since he got backing for his project on Dragon's Den we weren't disappointed and felt that 'Modrock' Guy's tribute to The Who was a worthy winner.

Not only will this be Bill’s third one man show with us, it will also be his first exhibition since being elected an Associate of The Royal Institute of Oil Painters. The ROI was founded in 1882 and is proud of its royal status granted by King Edward VII in 1909 and of the famous artists such as Alma Tadema, Dame Laura Knight, Fantin Latour and even Rodin, who have exhibited there. It is great to see Bill in such exalted company, and a thoroughly deserved award.

Once again we have awarded the A&K Wilson Gallery Award, and this year we were pleased to give it to a young artist called Stephen Teeuw for an intimate female nude entitled 'Rohan, Northcote Road'.
We are pleased to announce that the recipient of this years A&K Wilson Gallery Award at the NEAC was once again Michael Whittlesea for his painting, 'The Cricket Ground in Winter II'. I simply had to choose it as it combined two of my great loves, cricket and beautiful painting.
Frank will be exhibiting his most recent paintings, and also an array of 'assemblages'. Some creations are in box-like frames others are bas relief or verging on being stand alone wall sculptures. Very interesting and exciting developments from the early germ of an idea seen here 18 months ago.

I was gratified to find that the word ‘assemblage’ so nicely encompasses both our ‘drinks previews’ and Mr Frank Taylor’s new work.
Found objects, drift wood, slate, printers’ blocks, dowels, plastic clothes pegs, rusty screws and shiny bolts have all been arranged to create exciting artworks.
On some of the most intriguing, Frank has added runic signs, numbers, crosses, arrows, positive and negative symbols that you feel must possess a secret meaning if only you could translate or crack the code.
Others have the wood pierced with dozens of assorted nails creating powerful images that call to mind African Ju-Ju pieces with dark talismanic forces, they are frankly quite disturbing (note to self: possible title for Mr Taylor’s next show !).
But of course there are also more playful pieces, punch drunk boxers gaze out at us from unfocussed goggle eyes and games are played with art history. I spotted (or thought I spotted…) references to Klee, Kandinsky, Nicholson, Miro, Ernst and Gaudi, and that’s just in the pieces shown on this invitation! (Can you see them too?)
But for me the really fascinating thing about this new work is seeing the subject ease away from the flat plane of the canvas. Layers of paint are becoming layers of wood, paintings in frames become assemblages in boxes and these again seem to be moving out of the box to become perhaps stand alone relief sculptures?
Frank’s work is quite literally taking on another dimension.
